Having a Record of What Happens

This challenge is about making sure I write every day even when life is a little more hectic than usual.

(today’s more hectic than usual was Granny Woods’ funeral, followed by a 3 hour work meeting this evening)

So today’s post will be brief.

My home is happy because I have a record of what happens. I bullet journal. I take photographs. I blog.

I’ve been bullet journaling since the start of this year and love how it’s incorporating a planner/diary, a journal recording what did happen, to do lists, some photos and a dumping ground for ideas that pop into my head. It’s only a matter of time before I spill a bottle of water over it though. I’m amazed it’s still going so strong! I intend to archive it once it’s finished and eventually I’ll have a shelf full of journals with snapshots of life at that time.

I could see Colin was doing his classic finger over the camera as a joke and actually the result is quite funny in itself!

My husband would happily never take photos of what’s going on, but I love looking back at photos of both happy and sad times. If only I was in more of them myself!

I used to always keep receipts and tickets as memories of things that have happened but in an effort to reduce clutter – physical and mental – I am trying to only keep the occasional memento and instead have my journal records. Do you like keeping records of things that happen or do you prefer to live in the present and dump cinema tickets on your way home from the movie?!
